Originally conceived as a Cargo Loss Control and Fraud Prevention service, the Company started receiving instructions in Asset Recovery work as long ago as 1989, becoming one of the world´s foremost Asset Recovery Specialists, acting on behalf of the world´s major Ship Finance Banks and lending institutions, their lawyers and some Bondholders.
This period also signalled the birth of our Early Warning service tailored to provide banks and investors with timely warning about possible defaults.
Recognising the escalating threat of piracy in S E Asia, MRM SA launched the world´s first Anti-Piracy Rapid Response Force in London in 1996 and has gone on to become the leader in combatting Piracy and Hijack threats and incidents, employing only the very best maritime experienced personnel.
From time to time, we are asked to advise on Special Project work which may include security consultancy, port security, intelligence gathering and analysis, newbuild projects (merchant vessels and so-called "superyachts"). These may be on behalf of government agencies, multi-nationals or even individuals.
Now, in the light of the global economic situation, MRM SA´s team of qualified seafaring staff are able to provide an experienced, qualified and professional Vessel Lay-Up function helping Shipowners weather the economic gloom as efficently and cost-effectively as possible.
